Toomas Rebane Elected as First Prime Minister of Ruhnu

Toomas Rebane of the Baltic Unity Movement has been elected as the first Prime Minister of the Principality of Ruhnu, winning 56.1% of the vote in the micronation's inaugural democratic election.

The historic election saw strong participation from Ruhnu's citizens and residents, with 57 total votes cast. Rebane secured 32 votes, defeating his opponent Maris Kask of the Ruhnu Progress Party. The new Prime Minister brings extensive experience in diplomacy and community organization to his role.

Prince Announces Citizenship Restrictions to Preserve Heritage

In a move to preserve the unique cultural heritage of the Principality of Ruhnu, H.R.H. Prince Alvar I has announced significant new restrictions on citizenship applications.

The new policy limits eligibility to local residents, qualified investors, and individuals born within 160 kilometers of Ruhnu Island. The Prince emphasized the importance of maintaining the island's distinctive Swedish-Estonian Baltic heritage.

Arrests Made Following Political Unrest in Ruhnu

Authorities in the Principality of Ruhnu have arrested several members of the Ruhnu Democratic Movement (RDM) following yesterday's political demonstrations.

The arrests were made early this morning by the Principality's security forces on charges of disturbing the peace and inciting political unrest. Among those detained is RDM spokesperson Karin Mägi, who had publicly called for democratic reforms just one day prior.

Political Unrest Begins in Ruhnu as Democratic Movement Challenges Monarchy

The Principality of Ruhnu faces its first day of political unrest as the Ruhnu Democratic Movement (RDM) publicly announces its opposition to the current semi-constitutional monarchy.

Founded just over a week ago, Ruhnu is already experiencing tensions between monarchists and advocates for a fully democratic republic. The RDM calls for increased political reforms, including the establishment of a fully elected government and a written constitution limiting the powers of the prince.

Principality of Ruhnu Officially Established

The Principality of Ruhnu was officially established today as a micronation in the Baltic Sea.

Today marks the official establishment of the Principality of Ruhnu as a micronation with a semi-constitutional monarchy structure. Björke Lindström has been proclaimed as H.R.H. Prince Björke I, becoming the ceremonial head of the micronation.

The official flag of the Principality has been adopted, featuring a Nordic cross design with a blue background and yellow cross with black borders. As a micronation, Ruhnu acknowledges Estonia's sovereignty while celebrating its unique cultural heritage.
